The Defiant travels to Cardassia to receive and Orb, which was taken from the Bajorans. Before leaving, they also take on a passenger, Barry Waddle, a merchant who was strranded on Cardassia when the Klingons attacked. However, while travelling back to DS9, the Defiant is catapulted back in time to the 23rd century, in orbit of Deep Space Station K-7. They discover that Barry Waddle is in fact Arne Darvin, a Klingon secret agent. It turns out that he was found out by Kirk, and he intends to exact revenge, by putting a bomb inside a tribble. It's up to the Defiant crew to go undercover on the Enterprise and stop him... |

Worf meanwhile, has joined The New Essentialist movement, who believe that the Federation should return to its original values - and that includes shutting Risa down. To help achieve this, Worf helps them shut down the weather grid - meaning that Risa reverts to its natural ecosystem - which is lots of rain. |
